Denver Broncos – the New Super Bowl Winners

Broncos become the new Super Bowl winners after defying the odds and overcoming the Carolina Panthers 24-10. What proved to be the winning factor was Bronco’s great defense once again, with much of the credit due to Defensive Coordinator Wade Phillips for his work. Before the onset of the final, Panther’s quarterback Cam Newton was regarded as the biggest threat for the opposition, however Denver’s defense virtually neutralized him making him unable to make a difference in the game.

The last time Broncos won the Super Bowl was in 1998 (XXXIII) managing to seal back-to-back titles after winning the year before as well, in 1997 (XXXII). Carolina were the favorites be crowned the new Super Bowl winners, but once again the underdog proved to be the better team.

Broncos’ Von Miller won the MVP award for the game, but he praised the work his teammates have done so far in their respective careers. “I’m so proud of my buddies. It feels great. Peyton (Manning) and DeMarcus (Ware) and coach (Wade) Phillips have been deserving their whole careers. I did this for them. I put my neck on the line for those guys,” stressed the outside linebacker, according to Woody Paige of The Denver Post.

The new Super Bowl winners may be left without their quarterback Manning next season, as he may be looking to retire after collecting his second championship ring. The 39-year-old suggested it may be up to his mother to decide on his future. “I would like for Peyton to retire, I would,” said Olivia Manning, before proceeding to give her reasons, “Well, we’re on top, and physically I don’t think it’s worth going on. You won a Super Bowl. That’s the best way to go out.”
