Burke, who has made a total of 31 appearances and scored 6 goals for Forest, said it was a shock to him when he learned the club has accepted a transfer from abroad for his signature.

“When I found out that Forest had agreed a deal to sell me it was a surprise, but I understand that the transfer fee received should help stabilise the club and allow Forest to sign at least two or three quality players who can help push the team for promotion,” commented Burke.

“As for my new club, RB Leipzig, all I can say is they wanted me and expressed a real hunger for me to join them a hopefully enhanced their team. RB Leipzig has a desire to be one of the top clubs in Europe and I am excited to be a part of that and start the next chapter in my footballing career.”

Burke joined the youth ranks of Forest as an 8-year-old boy in 2005 who went on to make his official debut for the senior side in the 2014-15 season at 17 years of age. During that same season, he was loaned out to Bradford City competing in League One to get more experience, however he managed to make appearances in only two games.

The popular energy-drink maker Red Bull GmbH bought the playing rights from SSV Markranstadt in the summer of 2009, and in a matter of several years RB Leipzig have propelled themselves all to way to the top of German football, after initially starting out in the fifth division ahead of the 2009-10 season. Coincidentally, it was also the fifth football project backed by Red Bull, with the other ones being: RC Red Bull Salzburg, New York Red Bulls, Red Bull Brasil and Red Bull Ghana.

Leipzig have started their maiden Bundesliga campaign with a 2-2 draw against Hoffenheim away, while in round 2 they’ll face a big test against Dortmund (September 10) in front of home fans at the 43,000-seater Red Bull Arena.

The host have been given underdog chances 6.00 (5/1) (Bet365 online sportsbook) against BVB 1.44 (4/9), while a tie between the two stands at 4.33 (10/3). However, if Leipzig manages to integrate Burke in time for this encounter, they could potentially pose a bigger threat to the Black and Yellows.

It is highly expected for Bayern Munich to continue their domination in German football and seal a record fifth straight title at the end of the season, but Bet365 offers a special market that allows you to bet on Bundesliga without Bayern Munich. In this case, Borussia Dortmund carry favourite odds 1.33 (1/3) to win the title, while Wolfsburg are second in the running 11.00 (10/1) and Bayer Leverkusen are third on the odds chart 12.00 (11/1) to lift the silver platter.

Before Leipzig take on BVB at home, the night before Bayern 1.25 (1/4) will travel to Gelsenkirchen where they will face Schalke 11.00 (10/1) – a draw stands at 5.75 (19/4). Die Roten striker Robert Lewandowski has already scored 6 goals in 3 appearances in the 2016/17 campaign: two hat-tricks against Werder Bremen and Jena, in the league and cup respectively. The 28-year-old is therefore the favourite 1.72 (8/11) to be the top goalscorer in the Bundesliga this season, yet again. BVB’s forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is the second favourite 4.50 (7/2), while Thomas Muller is right behind him 9.00 (8/1).
